Public Administration in Nigeria

Abstract

This paper examines the roles played by the legislature in the public policy implementation in Nigeria. Specifically, it assessed the role of Katsina State House of Assembly vis-à-vis the issues of representation, oversight and appropriation duties regarding policy implementation in the state. Data utilized were derived from secondary materials. The paper concludes that although public policy implantation is not the primary mandate of the legislature in the state, the organ has a critical role in the implementation of public policies in the state.
