Effects of Covid-19 on Demography of Nigerian Population: Week 10, 2020 – Week 26, 2021

This empirical study has been carried out to analyze the impact of covid-19 fatality on the demography of Nigeria. The study is empirical in nature and relied majorly on the report of Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) within the week 10, 2020 – week 26, 2021. The descriptive statistics shows that among the people that contracted the virus were 60.08% male and 39.92 female. Also, the fatality rate recorded as a result of covid-19 complication shows that men accounted for about 71% while, women are about 21%., This magnitude casualty recorded within the short period of our observation have negative consequece on the demography of Nigerian population. The study therefore advocates that there should be more awareness campaign on the danger pose by the covid-19 virus. More efforts should be put in place to improve our health facilities across the country in order to safe guard the demography of the Nigeria population.
